VOLUNTEERING REQUIREMENTS
-
Must be 15 years old
-
Program volunteers must be physically fit
-
Volunteering in equine assisted therapy sessions involves moderate physical activity. Make sure you are comfortable with the physicality of the role you have selected, as you will be walking and doing some jogging in a sand arena and on your feet for up to two hours. Volunteers must be able to handle a dusty environment and those working with horses must be able to move quickly and strong enough to control large animals. Please Note: No prior horse experience is necessary, but very helpful! If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that is less physically demanding, volunteering in the office or mucking stalls is a great alternative!
